Rachael Ray gave an update about her health after a video of her slurring her words went viral last month.

In the first episode of her podcast, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” the chef explained that she had been recovering from some injuries caused by household chores.

“I’m a homemaker. I love doing chores. I love being in the kitchen,” Ray said in the podcast. “I’m always working on something with my brain, writing or planning, but I really enjoy doing chores.”

“I like what people call physical work,” she continued. “I enjoy cooking dinner, planning meals, and making lists. I love physical labor, like helping carry wood.”

She added that she sometimes competes with her husband, John. “‘How many pieces of wood did John carry? Can I carry more?’ I don’t say it to him, but I think it to myself,” she said.

The 56-year-old shared that she had to stop doing physical tasks recently because she had “a couple of bad falls” over the past few weeks.

She didn’t share details about how the falls happened or what kind of injuries she had.

Fans first became worried about Ray’s health in early September when she posted a clip on Instagram where part of her face seemed to droop, and her speech was slurred.

One concerned fan commented, “Look at her mouth. It seems like she may be recovering from a stroke.”

Another wrote, “She sounds tipsy and looks bloated. I hope she gets help before it’s too late.”

Although many fans expressed concern and support, Ray hadn’t spoken about the situation until now.

Although Rachael Ray didn’t give a detailed response to the viral video, she did offer a possible explanation for her appearance and slurred speech.

Whatever the case may be, I sincerely hope she’s okay. I would never wish anything bad upon her.
